SALIK SUBHAN
Executive Producer

Mr. Subhan was born in Bangladesh but moved to the United States at an early age. Over the years he worked his way up the ladder to become successful in real estate, restaurants and various other businesses both here and in Bangladesh. Mr. Subhan has long been involved in charitable works. Together with his family he established the Subhan Foundation in the mid-90’s in memory of their father and then built and endowed the Subhan High School in northern Bangladesh for 350 students while providing various services for other schools and colleges. The Foundation has also assisted 275 small businesses with interest-free loans, and has constructed a K through 2nd grade school for over 250 children.

With broad experience throughout south Asia as well as Bangladesh, Mr. Subhan understands the culture and temperament of the people like few other producers. His ability to plan, negotiate and execute in this world has made it possible for us to capture on film images and events that have never been documented before. With family and business connections throughout Bangladesh that he was able to martial for the cause he was able to manage the logistics for us to film throughout the country at the height of the 2004 flood (from both helicopter and boat) as well as documenting the dry season in these very same areas - to provide us with a dramatic 'before & after' sense of the alternate devastations from both deluge and drought. His commitment to address the issue of shared water rights on a global level through dialogue and negotiation imbues our film with a strong sense of justice and concern for basic human rights.
